She's undoubtedly right, though her examples of platform are all pretty high-falutin' and I think smaller ones- maybe more like a bucket to stand on?- could still lift one above the crowd a bit.
Interesting stuff, this whole idea about platforms. I agree with Clare, the mega platforms are rare and seem to be the province of non-fiction writers.
